DoFollow V/s NoFollow - These are two most important HTML Attribute in Website or any Blogging Platform. So Now am simply show you what is it these attribute where it is used and why these are very important.
DoFollow : It is a type of HTML Attribute that allow the Search Engines To Crawl their Hyperlink and Also show in search results. In real the dofollow tag not exist when a simple link is embeded into html tag so tag defines the relationship between Two linked Document.
Example : <a href=”http://www.tenxblogger.blogspot.com/”>Ten X Blogger</a>
You Notice that their are no 'dofollow tag or even any word in it but this example is said to be 'dofollow'. Allow GoogleBot to crawl their Links in Search Results
NoFollow : It also an relation attribute in HTML and it is Opposite to dofollow attribure. In NoFollow the Search Engines Such as Google, Bing and Yahoo not Able to crawl their hyperlinks is search results. NoFollow attribute mostly used to prevent Spam Comments on Website. Page Rank is not affected with nofollow.
Example : <a href="http://www.xyz.com" rel="nofollow">Ten X Blogger</a>
In This you see the rel='nofollow' attribute does not allow the Search Engine to crawl the nofollow specified Hyperlink and Search Engine Do this Job and Search Engine not show nofollow links in any search results.
Why 'Nofollow' ?
Spam Commenting on Blog is widely affected the search results and Spamming. According to Wikipedia -
"In Early 2005 Google's Matt Cutt and Jason Shellen proposed the value to address the Spam Comment Problem. Google Announced that Page Rank is not affected by nofollow attribute.
